Why You Should Play What On Earth
What On Earth may be an old-fashioned slot, but it still packs a punch. It boasts a number of enjoyable bonus features, making it possible to pick up some really big wins, and is accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack evoking memories of classic sci-fi from previous decades. Microgaming’s designers have also had a lot of fun with the visuals, blending the space theme with traditional fruit symbols to create a cherry comet, a sun orange, plums as Saturn and a watermelon planet. A number of extra-terrestrials also pop up on the reels, while there are a trio of brightly-coloured rockets zooming around which activate the bonus features.
How to Play
The Spin button starts the game, or alternatively you can tap Expert and hit Auto Play if you want to spin the reels without interruptions. Before you begin, though, make sure to select the size of your stake. You can Select Lines, Select Coins or press Bet Max to automatically set the highest possible wager. The total bet will be displayed along the bottom, ranging anywhere from £0.01 to £45.
The What On Earth logo serves as the Wild symbol. It replaces the porthole and console symbols to help form winning combinations.
The three Scatter symbols are the green, red and blue rockets. While the green and blue ships only appear on reels three to five, the red one can appear anywhere. If you land at least three of the rockets on consecutive reels, five aliens will be seen in their spaceships and you will be invited to pick one to uncover a prize multiplier of between 3x and 200x.
If you pick an alien and it reveals a globe rather than a prize multiplier, you will get the chance to select a destination and another prize will be shown – going up to a maximum multiplier of 400x.
Beam ‘Em Up Bonus
If you pick an alien and it reveals a ‘Contest’ symbol rather than a prize multiplier, you will get the chance to play a new game. Here, the aliens send beams down to try and pick up as many earthlings as they can in the time provided. The multiplier value will increase, up to a possible 200x, with each earthling beamed up.
